I love traveling by train. It's pretty great and comfortable. And when I say that, I do know what I'm talking about. Like they say - been there, done that. I have hitch-hiked for tens of thousands of kilometers during my travels, so you can assume I have also tried out all the other modes of transportation. And so far, I must admit that trains can be a rather good way to travel.
Of course, me being me, the reasons for that might not always match with the normal people out there. Nature, romance, seeing the world frame by frame from your train window, supporting the green way of living, it's all good, but that's not really what I like about it.
What I like about the trains the most is that compared to planes I can hop on and off pretty much any time I want to. And compared to bus it's really, I mean really comfortable. Even if we talk about rather rather old trains. There's still room to walk around and so on. Plus I like the fact that whenever I want to take a trip 500+ km away, I can always take the night train. Sleep in there, move from one spot to another, and I don't even have to pay for the hotel room. Well, we all have our own quirks.
May 12 is the day when the Amtrak National Train Day is celebrated in the United States and their spokesperson this year is Rosario Dawson, exotically stunning actress, known for films such as Sin City and Death Proof. As Amtrak Vice President, Marketing and Product Development says about her, "Like many of our customers, she is passionate about staying connected to her community and is someone who enjoys the journey, not just the destination."
