When I sat down in the bus which wasn't supposed to go to St. Raphael but rather some place called Les Arcs I kind of thought it must be a place nearby, a place near the coast. I wasn't right. Or well, 30 minute drive between the mountains from the coast into the mainland isn't too far, yes, but it's still a totally different place. At least there was a train station so I wasn't too worried.

However, I was out of cigarettes and I didn't find any tobacco shops in the train station...so I decided to walk towards the center of the town until I found something. Well, I did find my tobacco, in the center of the town. Another thing I found was a town full of people, weird clothes and music. It was a medieval village.

Actually I think there was just just a medieval festival (Les Medievales?) but it looked really great, lots of accordingly dressed people, chairs (well, just rectangles) made of hay, etc etc etc. After a beer I really felt like I could stay the night there, seemed like a nice little towney, but unfortunately, of course, the hotels I found were fully booked again.

So the only option was to move on or back to somewhere. I tried to make up my mind between Toulon, Marseille, Nice...then checked Bordeaux but this was a 100 eur ride. So...ideally I would have taken a long ride like the Bordeaux thingy, wouldn't have had to worry about finding a hotel then. But I couldn't find such a ride for smth like 40-50 euros. Toulon and Marseille were too close. I didn't know Toulon and at 23pm it might have been just a bit difficult to start looking for a hotel. Today is not that day. Marseille...I've been there before, might even find a hotel, but didn't really feel like going there, at least not yet. So I decided to do whatever a boring person would do (and I thought I'm not that boring, duh) and took a train back to Nice. Even though I'm aware of the current hotel problem in Nice as well, at least I know loads of hotels there. And now I need to spit 3 times over my left shoulder, experience over the past days has shown that I really shouldn't speak my mind before I have actually turned what's in my mind into reality.

I'm currently in a train, should be arriving in Nice in about 45 minutes. Wish me luck.
