He asked me what I was going to do today - I said no idea. He suggested I'd go to Antibes, a town nearby on the coast with allegedly beautiful beaches. He shared my opinion (taken from air and one beer near the train station during heavy rain couple of years ago) on Cannes - nice city but ... not good enough. He suggested me to take a bus instead of train. He said train is 5-7 euros while the bus is one euro. He did mention something about a second bus I'll need to take for 2 euros but...well, I'll see when I get there, on a bus right now. Of course, the obvious benefit of taking the train would have been the time - train ride to Antibes would have probably been 10 minutes max while the bus takes an hour and 15 minutes...going through the airport and some other places. Hmm, then again, now I know how I can get to the airport on Sunday...and for just one euro. I think the last time I was in nice I went to the airport and came from there for 4 or 5 euros. And there is a difference, the whole beer during happy hour. For anyone interested, it's bus number 200 that goes to Antibes and Nice...and on certain times it goes through the airport as well, not always.
You can get on the bus in the main bus station which is on the way to the beach...the easiest version to find it - as the hotel manager pointed it out to me (I knew it already but still), just follow the tramway and you'll find the bus station. Another option is to actually go to the beach, see the road there and find a bus stop where you can find the number 200 on it as well. You might have to put out your thumb when the bus comes though, but it stops.
I'm at the airport right now, so about 50 more minutes til Antibes. Wish me luck, like always.
